Paul Lorraine
Special Consultant and Team Leader
Paul is a solicitor and barrister. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) Degree (LLB) and a Master of Laws (LLM) (Dispute Resolution). His formal studies in the field of dispute resolution have included practical training in advanced negotiation, mediation and facilitation techniques. In addition, Paul is a member of our team providing investigations into improper conduct, discrimination, harassment, occupational health & safety and workplace grievances.

Paul brings to the firm a unique mix of industrial relations and people management expertise. His broad career in workplace relations, law and policy includes experience of working in government, the private sector and not for profit organisations, and involvement in industries such as rail, construction, banking and aviation.

In senior executive roles, Paul developed and implemented industrial relations policy and legislative strategies for the State Governments of NSW and Victoria. He also gained extensive leadership and management experience.

A selection of Paul’s past achievements include:
  • designing and delivering specialist advice and advocacy services;
  • leading national level negotiations, including resolving complex industrial disputes and in the early 1990s, negotiating some of the first enterprise agreements in Australia;
  • leading significant organisational change, ensuring equity and integrity in workplace reform and restructuring processes for government and private sector organisations; and
  • facilitating industry-wide consultation and advising on compliance with workplace relations legislation, policy and guidelines in the construction sector.
