Mary graduated from UNSW with a BCommLLB Degree with Distinction in 1988. She subsequently completed a Master of Laws Degree from University of Sydney.

Mary commenced practising in industrial and employment law in 1989. Mary has worked predominantly in private practice although she has had considerable experience as an in-house legal counsel for one of Australia’s largest property and construction companies – Lend Lease.

Mary acted as employee relations advisor to the construction arm of Lend Lease, gaining valuable industrial relations experience in the construction industry. Subsequently Mary moved to Singapore for several years where she was the regional legal counsel for Lend Lease’s activities throughout the Asia region.

Upon returning to Australia in 1997, Mary commenced with Harmers where she has had extensive experience in advising on all aspects of industrial relations, employment and occupational health and safety matters.

Due to her extensive experience in working as a corporate in-house counsel, Mary has particular insight into understanding clients’ commercial needs and objectives.
