Kit Yap
Graduate at Law
Kit graduated from the University of Technology Sydney in 2010 with a combined Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Arts in Communication (Journalism). During his studies he worked as a Judge's associate, as well as a Judge's tipstaff, at the Industrial Relations Commission of New South Wales. He also worked as an assistant clerk at a barristers’ chambers specialising in employment law.
Kit has particular interest in advocacy and negotiations. He was selected to represent his university at the Willem C Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna, Austria, and has competed in a number of other mooting and negotiations competitions throughout his university degree.
Kit has volunteered at community legal centres. He has experience in the media sector and has written legal newspaper articles for one of Sydney's largest newspapers.
Kit joined Harmers in 2008 as a summer clerk and returned as a graduate-at-law in March 2010. Kit will be admitted as a solicitor in early 2011.
