Joanna graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) and a Bachelor of Economics, majoring in Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management. She was awarded with the Constitutional Law Prize and Employment Law Prize as part of her undergraduate studies at the University of Sydney.
Joanna has been involved with the firm’s contribution to the Australian Institute of Employment Rights. She has authored ‘The Australian Standard of Employment Rights’ which is a how-to guide for businesses seeking best practice in people management.
Joanna is a Rhodes Scholar and graduated in June 2009 with a Master of Studies in Legal Research from the University of Oxford. She is currently working part time for the firm as she completes her Doctorate of Philosophy in Employment Law.
Prior to starting at Harmers, Joanna worked in the Industrial Team of the Australian Workers’ Union and as the Head Researcher for the Pay Equity Project of the Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Agency. She has tutored extensively in industrial relations, human resource management and employment law at the University of Sydney.
Joanna joined Harmers in 2006 and is involved in all areas of the firm’s practice.
