Paul Lorraine

Special Consultant

Paul Lorraine joined Harmers in April 2007 as a Special Consultant.

Paul brings to the firm a unique mix of industrial relations and best practice people management expertise spanning more than 20 years. His broad career background includes working in public, private and not for profit organisations; as well as a depth of experience across the rail, construction, banking and aviation sectors.

In senior executive positions, Paul has developed and implemented industrial relations policy and legislation for the State Governments of NSW and Victoria. In addition to creating strategic policy frameworks, Paul has practical hands-on experience of managing diverse teams, and a progressive approach to people management based on leadership, communication, collaboration and teamwork.

A selection of Paul’s past achievements include: 

  • Advising on compliance with Work Choices and the National Building and Construction Industry Code and Guidelines;
  • Leading significant organisational change, ensuring equity and integrity in workplace reform and restructuring processes for several government and private sector organisations;
  • Dispute prevention and resolution through facilitation, negotiation and mediation;
  • Leading national level negotiations for some of the first enterprise agreements in Australia; and
  • Designing and delivering specialist advice and advocacy services.
