OUR INVESTIGATIONS TEAM
Our Investigations Team has extensive experience in conducting investigations. In addition we have staff with a background in the police and government with experience in collecting criminal intelligence. We have provided investigative support to corporates, government bodies and unions.
The Team is guided by the firm's General Counsel, Greg Robertson. Greg joined the firm in 2000 and is involved in all areas of the firm's practice, serving as General Counsel for the firm in a wide variety of areas, as well as advising both corporate and individual clients. Greg served as Deputy Industrial Registrar from 1983 to 1991 and as Industrial Registrar from 1991 to 1999. Duties in these two roles included sitting as the tribunal to determine issues such as contested rules matters and allegations of Union misbehaviour giving a good insight into fact finding and decision making including preparation of proper written reasons for a decision. As the firm's General Counsel, Greg continues to be involved in investigations across a number of workplace areas, particularly in giving guidance on the control of such investigations and providing peer review of the findings of the investigation and the preparation of the final report. |
Brad Buffoni is the firm's Special Counsel Litigation and Investigations. Prior to 14 years with Harmers focusing on our larger-scale litigation, coronial inquests and occupational health and safety, Brad worked with the NSW Police including service as a Prosecutor and Sergeant assisting the Coroner, Director of Intelligence Officers' Courses, lecturer on Drug and Undercover courses, member of the Commissioner's working parties and Team Leader of Tactical Intelligence Units for Drug and Vice and Special Projects. |
Paul Lorraine is the firm's Special Consultant and a Team Leader. Paul has a broad career background includes working in public, private and not for profit organisations, as well as a depth of experience across the rail, construction, banking and aviation sectors. A former Executive Director of Industrial Relations Victoria, and as Assistant Director-General of the New South Wales Department of Industrial Relations, and his formal training includes advanced mediation, negotiation and the latest approaches to workplace dispute resolution. |
Jenny Inness is a Team Leader who joined Harmers in 2004 having spent two years working as a solicitor for one of Australia's largest law firms. Jenny provides strategic and practical advice on a range of employment and industrial law issues including discrimination and equal opportunity. Jenny has conducted investigations into sexual harassment and discrimination, disability discrimination, OH&S and serious misconduct. |
