Employment Specialist Law Firm of the Year

Harmers Workplace Lawyers consolidated its reputation as Australia’s leading workplace law firm by being awarded the "Employment Specialist Law Firm of the Year" at the ALB Australasian Law Awards at The Westin, Sydney on Thursday 22 May, 2008.

The win marks the third year in a row that Harmers Workplace Lawyers has been awarded this prestigious title.

The ALB Australasian Law Awards are peer nominated from a wide range of practitioners in the jurisdiction. The judging panel, comprising senior in-house practitioners, determined Harmers Workplace Lawyers as the winner based on set criteria, and the work completed by the firm over the last year.

Mr Joydeep Hor, Managing Partner of Harmers Workplace Lawyers, says this win is a reflection on the firm's entire team and in particular the relationships that Harmers has developed with its clients.

“Being a workplace relations law firm, particularly in the current political and legislative environment, means being seen by your clients as a trusted advisor. Our clients have placed an enormous amount of trust in our firm, some for many years and we consider ourselves privileged to service these clients on the most sensitive of matters.”

"With the imminent roll back of "Work Choices" on the horizon moving towards the Rudd Government's "Forward with Fairness" regime, we consider this year's award to be particularly significant and confirms our firm's ability to respond to external challenges.

"Clients are looking to specialist knowledge in most areas of legal practice and our team of 30 plus lawyers nationally working exclusively in the workplace relations space gives us a tremendous advantage over multi-disciplinary commercial firms. Significantly, one of the other firms nominated this year was one of Australia's largest commercial firms which has a substantial presence in the workplace relations space and so we have taken particular pride in this year's achievement."
